SGS Energy began life as SunGod Solar Ltd, a small solar panel business in Kent created to help homes and businesses generate energy in a smarter, cleaner way. Today, we’re a family-owned renewable energy company designing, installing and maintaining complete systems across the South East and Aberdeenshire, with qualified electricians and heating engineers delivering every project under one roof.

Our story began in Kent, where SunGod Solar Ltd started as a small solar PV business helping homes and businesses generate energy in a smarter, cleaner way.

Jonny Howes becomes Managing Director

2013

After subcontracting for us for several years, Jonny Howes became Managing Director and helped expand SGS Energy beyond solar.

Matt Howes joins the SGS Energy team

2015

Jonny’s brother, Matt Howes, joined SGS Energy as Sales Director and Co-Owner, shaping the company into the family-owned business it is today.

The renewable energy showroom opens

2025

SGS Energy opened a showroom where customers can see how solar, battery storage, air source heat pumps and EV charging work together, then speak to the team about the best setup for their property.

B Corp certified

SGS Energy became B Corp certified, recognising our commitment to growing the business in a way that supports our customers, our team, the local community and the environment.
